In 1989, our first group home opened in Middlesex Borough. This program enabled six individuals residing at Keystone Community Residence to move into a single family home several miles away from South Plainfield. In order to meet the needs of the individuals we serve and support, our second group home opened in the borough of Dunellen during July of 1992.

Upon a child’s admission, Keystone will utilize a variety of treatment modules, focusing on the child’s history and future needs to produce a positive and successful treatment plan. All residential programs are licensed by the Division of Developmental Disabilities, New Jersey Department of Human Services. In 1983, Keystone opened its community residence, Keystone Community Residence, in what was formally the Grant School within the South Plainfield School District. Scranton, PA – In January 2022, the Scranton Area Community Foundation provided a grant for Keystone Mission’s Emergency Shelter – Code Blue in Lackawanna County. Since receiving the grant, Keystone Mission has provided 241 shelter stays and hired staff to increase the level of care. We will continue to work on our mission to serve people with autism and intellectual disabilities, by making sure they have a safe, fun and friendly home environment. Our structural engineers specialize in providing expert engineering services for the architectural building industry. We provide small firm attention, with big firm results.

Keystone Rehab Products

Keystone responded to the statewide shortage of day programming by opening a vocational program in July of 1991. This program currently provides vocational and pre-vocational training to 26 individuals as well as opportunities for real work experiences in the community. Keystone Mission is an award-winning, local faith-based 501 non-profit organization in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. Our mission is to be a catalyst for the community, to provide help and hope to the homeless, hungry, and hurting people in Northeast PA. We offer legal and technical assistance to governments and organizations seeking to move people out of institutions and develop community-based supports. Our work revolves around supporting people to direct their own lives, to establish a home, find meaningful work, pursue education alongside their peers, develop real relationships, and fill valued roles within the community. Keystone Human Services remains committed to our work in Eastern Europe supporting people with disability and building a more inclusive world. We strongly condemn the aggression against Ukraine and stand in full support of the Ukrainian people. New Jersey’s request resulted in the founding and opening of Keystone Community Residence in South Plainfield in 1983.

Today both New Jersey and Pennsylvania programs are separate agencies serving individuals with developmental disabilities in their respective states. However, both agencies share a rich history of integrating persons with developmental disabilities into community settings. Keystone’s mission is to provide people with developmental disabilities diverse opportunities to lead fulfilling lives.

Keystone Human Service

You must apply between now and the end of the day on December 31, 2022 and successfully complete New Employee Orientation. Build a career in human services and help build a better world. Keystone also provides individual supports to persons with developmental disabilities living in their own homes. Individual supports provide individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live independently in their own homes and/or apartments. Public Events have been cancelled, our offices are still running remotely and our employees are working for the health and safety of our individuals in residential settings. Visitors and community activities are temporarily suspended.

We serve over 1400 adults across seven counties and offer an array of services, including both full and part-time supports. We operate over 80 community-based group homes and Day Option Programs, in addition to Supported Employment, Life Sharing, and Supported Living opportunities in Northeast Pennsylvania. In addition to our group home programs, since 1991 Keystone has operated a Supportive Living Program at Gramercy Gardens in Middlesex Borough. This program adds to the continuum of services Keystone provides persons with developmental disabilities. Currently, our Supportive Living Program offers independent community living with support to six individuals.
